Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the Taleen (تالين) app (hereby referred to as “Application”) for mobile devices, created by Jehad AbuDabbous (hereby referred to as “Service Provider”) as a free service. This service is intended for use “AS IS”. Taleen is a Muslim companion app providing prayer times, the Holy Quran (reading and listening), Azkar and supplications, an electronic Tasbih, a Quran memorization aid, the Qibla compass, and the Prophetic Sunnah.

Information Collection and Use

The Application does not require you to create an account or sign in, and the Service Provider does not collect or store your name, email address, phone number, or other personally identifying information on any server. The Application does not contain analytics or advertising SDKs and does not track which screens you visit or how long you use it.

The Application does retrieve content (Quran text, audio recitations, prayer-time calculations, and Azkar) from third-party services over the internet. When the Application makes these requests, those services may automatically receive standard technical information, such as your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address and operating system, as part of normal internet communication. This information is handled by those services under their own privacy policies and is not collected or retained by the Service Provider.

Location

With your permission, the Application uses your device's location for two purposes only:

• To calculate accurate prayer times for your area.
• To determine the direction of the Qibla.

Your coordinates (or a city name you enter manually) are sent to the Aladhan prayer-times service solely to compute these timings. Location is not used for advertising, personalized recommendations, or analytics, and it is not transmitted to any other party for those purposes. You may set your location manually by city instead, and you can grant, deny, or revoke location access at any time through your device settings.

Artificial Intelligence

The Application does not use Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to process your data or provide features.

Notifications

If you enable them, the Application schedules local notifications on your device for prayer times (Athan) and Azkar reminders. These notifications are generated and delivered locally on your device and can be turned off at any time.

Third-Party Services

To deliver its content, the Application connects to the following third-party services. Each service processes requests under its own privacy policy:

• Aladhan (api.aladhan.com) — prayer-time calculations
• Quran.com (api.quran.com, api.qurancdn.com) — Quran text, translation, and tafsir
• MP3 Quran (server.mp3quran.net) and EveryAyah (everyayah.com) — Quran audio recitations
• Internet Archive (archive.org) — the Athan audio
• Google Firebase — used to deliver Azkar content; Firebase may collect technical and diagnostic data as described in Google's Privacy Policy

The Service Provider has no control over, and is not responsible for, the privacy practices of these third-party services. The Service Provider may disclose information only:

• as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process;
• when believed in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.

On-Device Data

Your preferences and activity — such as bookmarks, last-read position, Tasbih counts, memorization progress, downloaded recitations, and settings — are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to the Service Provider.

Opt-Out Rights

You can stop all use of information by the Application by revoking the relevant permissions (such as location) in your device settings, disabling notifications, or uninstalling the Application. You may use the standard uninstall process available on your mobile device or through the app marketplace.

Data Retention

Because the Application's data is stored locally on your device, it remains only for as long as the Application is installed and is removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall it. If you have any questions about data handling, you may contact the Service Provider at itsjhad@gmail.com.

Children

The Application is suitable for users of all ages and does not knowingly solicit data from or market to children. Because the Application does not require an account and does not collect personally identifying information, no personal data about children is gathered. If you believe a child has somehow provided personal information through the Application, please contact the Service Provider (itsjhad@gmail.com) so the necessary actions can be taken.

Security

The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding your information. Because your preferences and activity are stored locally on your device, they are protected by your device's own security. Requests to the third-party services listed above are made over standard internet connections.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy and the “Last Updated” date above. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.

This privacy policy is effective as of 2026-05-22.
